Western Container Sales

Our Shipping Container Guarantee

Western Container Sales guarantees that delivered containers meet clear structural standards for doors, floors and water resistance. Used containers will normally show cosmetic wear, but they should remain functional for storage.

30-day money-back guarantee less shipping cost, and a 3-year no-leaks warranty with doors that seal tight and floors you can trust.

30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

If the delivered container does not meet the Western Container Sales guarantee or otherwise fails to meet expectations, the customer may return it within 30 days.

Trucking charges are not refundable.

3-Year Leak Warranty

Containers are guaranteed to be leak-free at delivery and covered against leaks for the applicable three-year warranty period.

Warranty coverage applies to the container itself and does not cover stored contents.

What happens if a container does not meet the guarantee?

If a delivered container does not meet the guarantee, Western Container Sales may arrange an on-site repair, or replace the container when appropriate.

When replacement is the right remedy, current policy is to replace the container within five business days.

Doors that seal properly

Every container sold is expected to have doors that close and seal properly, with functional gaskets.

Door alignment can be affected by placement. An uneven site can twist the container enough to prevent the doors from lining up correctly.

Before assuming there is a door defect:

  • Use a reasonably level placement area.
  • Place blocking under the door-frame corners where necessary. See what to put under a shipping container.
  • Check alignment before opening a warranty concern.

Plan the site with the delivery guide before the truck arrives.

Leak protection

The container should be leak-free when delivered.

Western Container Sales also provides leak coverage for the applicable three-year warranty period. Coverage applies to the container, not stored contents.

Dents can allow water to pool on the roof over time. Routine inspection and maintenance can extend container life.

Floors

Floors should be free of holes, free of unacceptable soft spots, and suitable for normal storage use.

Cargo Worthy containers are designed for heavier cargo standards. Wind & Water Tight storage-grade units may have different certification standards and are not automatically certified for forklift or heavy industrial loads.

Cosmetic condition is not covered

Are cosmetic issues covered? No.

Used shipping containers commonly have surface rust, dings and dents, faded paint, previous markings, and patches or repairs. These cosmetic conditions are not defects covered by the structural guarantee.

If appearance is a high priority, choose a One Trip container. Compare grades on container conditions.

Container contents are not covered

The guarantee covers the container, not property stored inside it.

Inspect the roof, doors and floors before placing valuable contents inside the container.

Customer pickup units

If you pick up the container, or send your own carrier, inspect the unit before leaving the pickup location.

  • Reject the unit before departure if it does not meet the purchased condition and guarantee.
  • Units that Western Container Sales does not deliver must be returned to the originating pickup location for warranty repairs.

Are trucking charges refundable under the 30-day guarantee?

No.

Returned containers are refunded less transportation costs, including delivery and any required pickup/return trucking.

Are dents and surface rust covered?

No. Normal cosmetic wear on used containers is not covered.

Are the contents inside my container covered?
