When replacement is the right remedy, current policy is to replace the container within five business days.
Every container sold is expected to have doors that close and seal properly, with functional gaskets.
Door alignment can be affected by placement. An uneven site can twist the container enough to prevent the doors from lining up correctly.
Before assuming there is a door defect:
Plan the site with the delivery guide before the truck arrives.
The container should be leak-free when delivered.
Western Container Sales also provides leak coverage for the applicable three-year warranty period. Coverage applies to the container, not stored contents.
Dents can allow water to pool on the roof over time. Routine inspection and maintenance can extend container life.
Floors should be free of holes, free of unacceptable soft spots, and suitable for normal storage use.
Cargo Worthy containers are designed for heavier cargo standards. Wind & Water Tight storage-grade units may have different certification standards and are not automatically certified for forklift or heavy industrial loads.
Are cosmetic issues covered? No.
Used shipping containers commonly have surface rust, dings and dents, faded paint, previous markings, and patches or repairs. These cosmetic conditions are not defects covered by the structural guarantee.
If appearance is a high priority, choose a One Trip container. Compare grades on container conditions.
The guarantee covers the container, not property stored inside it.
Inspect the roof, doors and floors before placing valuable contents inside the container.
If you pick up the container, or send your own carrier, inspect the unit before leaving the pickup location.
