How Can I Move My Shipping Container After It’s Delivered?
We do not move containers we did not sell/rent. If you need an existing container moved, we recommend working with a local heavy haul company or heavy-duty wrecking/towing company.
Key points
- We don’t move containers we haven’t sold, so please don’t ask us to.
- Unless you have a 25-ton crane on site, you’ll probably need to empty your container to move it.
- Heavy-duty towing companies are your best bet to move an empty container.
Practical options for moving a container
Shipping containers are usually handled by heavy cranes at ports and intermodal depots. If you don’t have a 25-ton crane at your site, it can be complicated to move a container. Your best bet is to empty your container and then call a heavy-duty towing company or wrecker service with a winch that can pull your container onto their trailer.
