Can I Pick Up the Shipping Container Myself?

Yes, you can pick up your container at the intermodal depot to save on delivery charges. We can load your container onto your truck if you have proper equipment to haul the container.

Key points

  • We can load your truck for free at the depot if you want to manage your own pick-up.
  • Our professional drivers inspect the container when it’s loaded—make sure you know how to inspect a container properly before going to the depot.
  • If you manage your own pick-up, any warranty work will require bringing the container back to the depot.

Inspection and warranty responsibility

Please note that you’ll need to inspect your container at the depot for any issues. Containers can be rejected if they don’t meet structural standards (leaks, door issues, holes in the floor, etc.), but cannot be rejected because of cosmetic issues like rust or faded paint. If you do manage your own shipping, then you’ll need to return the container to the depot for any warranty work to be completed. If we deliver the container, then we’ll be responsible for warranty returns—but if you inspect the container and haul it yourself, it’s your responsibility to pay for the return shipping.

Managing your own pick-up is a great way to save money on shipping, but make sure you inspect the container at the depot to avoid needing to bring it back for repairs later.
